Before it was a work of art, it was just a regular old stairway. The staircase is located on 16th and Moraga. It is a hidden gem of San Francisco.

In 2005, the mural on the steps was completed. Now, many people come to see and walk up the stairs. What some people don’t know is that there are two sets of stairs. After the first flight, there is another hill.

The second flight of stairs is just as tiring as the first. This stairway itself is not a pretty sight but when you get to the top, the view is just breathtaking. The hike is well worth it. It is one of the highest points in San Francisco that allows you to see a lot of the city. When you get up there, you will see a view of pretty much everything.

When it was a regular flight of stairs, people still walked/ran up those stairs but there weren’t that many. Now there are 163 colorful steps to run up. On the mural on the stairs, there are pictures of flowers, fishes and birds. On August 25, 2005 a ceremony took place at the staircase to celebrate the completion of the stairs.
